Preferred development toolset for MeTA

#1

What is the preferred tool set of the core MeTA developers? Do you typically use a specific IDE? vim and gdb? I didn’t see any discussion in any of the documentation or previous discussion.

I tried to use CLion and Eclipse CDT, particularly to enable to debugging, but ran into some trouble. I was hoping that, if I aligned with the developers working with the code base more frequently, I would encounter less friction and have a better development experience.

Thanks!

Both @skystrife and I use vim. Here are some plugins I have installed:

Plugin 'gmarik/vundle'
Plugin 'scrooloose/nerdtree'
Plugin 'altercation/vim-colors-solarized'
Plugin 'bronson/vim-trailing-whitespace'
Plugin 'rhysd/vim-clang-format'
Plugin 'vim-scripts/L9'
Plugin 'git://git.wincent.com/command-t.git'
Plugin 'rstacruz/sparkup', {'rtp': 'vim/'}
Plugin 'Shougo/vimproc.vim'
Plugin 'Shougo/unite.vim'

I actually don’t even remember what some of them do, but clang-format and nerdtree are the ones I probably use the most. vundle is the plugin manager.
